BearBills is a company established in 2008 by Baylor Alums. Having lived off-campus during our time at Baylor, we knew it was great to live with some of our best friends. But we also experienced the hassle of setting up and paying utilities, and the bigger hassle of working that our with roommates. Even the best friendships can be strained when there’s money involved. So, we started asking questions about how to simplify this time-consuming issue:
Some of our questions were:
Who’s going to sign up for the utilities?
Who’s going to make sure the bills are paid on time?
Who’s job is it to collect the money? What if one person doesn’t have the money when the bill is due?
Are we going to lose our deposits if we pay late?
We realized that our friends were struggling with these same questions. So, we started talking about what it might be like for a company to make one simple solution for all of these nagging questions. And, Voila! BearBills was born!
Our goal at BearBills is to simplify your life with roommates. Here’s how BearBills helps:
• We get a copy of your bills each month direct from the utility companies and pay them.
• We add them up, and invoice each roommate only for their share of the bills.
• We take care of paying the bills on time, and collecting the money from you and each of your roommates.
• But we don’t stop at just splitting bills either. We will even help you set up your utilities when you move into your place.
• And we let you pay your bill online, or by auto draft each month.
We were college students too, so we know what it’s like when money is tight. That’s why we worked hard and are proud to offer BearBills completely free! We have worked it out for the utility companies to pay us marketing fees for simplifying their business on a large scale and to bring them a large number of customers! It’s a win for everyone.
